I seriously need more hours in the day to manage to do everything I want to do! I think I suffer from an incurable syndrome of thinking I can fit 10 hours work into 5 – how many of you do the same?! Sometimes I actually do manage though and it is very, very satisfying. Joking aside, I am very pleased to introduce the next stage of my Flower Wheel Mandala Series: The Medium Flower Wheel Circle Square. It follows on from the Flower Wheel Circle and as this Circle is larger than the Flower Wheel Coaster it wasn’t possible to make this in a small version.
It is however made according to the same principles as the small one, with the same spoke-like lines emerging from the circle to make it into a square. It also reminds me a bit of the sun. This pattern has the same stitch count along the side as the Medium Flower Wheel Coaster Square and the two together fit along the side of the Large Flower Wheel Coaster Square.
As with the other patterns in the series I have made the squares in 3 yarns and sizes: Drops Nepal (5 mm hook) which is an Aran weight yarn, Drops Belle (4 mm hook) which is a DK weight yarn and Scheepjes Catona (3 mm hook) which is a 4-ply weight yarn. The square in Aran weight measures 12 inches / 31 cm across and you need around 130 m yarn for that one. The square in DoubleKnit yarn measures around 9.5 inches / 24 cm across and you need around 110 m yarn for this one. The 4-ply square measure around 8 inches / 20 cm across and you need around 84 metres yarn for this one.
Please remember that this is my design and my copyright. You’re most welcome to use the pattern for yourself, but please do not copy, reproduce, translate or publish it as your own. If you sell what you make or post pictures of your makes I would appreciate if you mention where you got the pattern and direct people to my site. Thanks!
