As people who have followed me for a while or seen my patterns before will know, I do love a good snowflake and I love making up new patterns. So, I’m really pleased to be able to be announce my new crochet snowflake collection: THE FLOURET SNOWFLAKE COLLECTION. I started working on the patterns last winter – and sold quite a few of the actual snowflakes as well – and decided to get the patterns out in good time for making Christmas decor this year.

The collection consists of four patterns: The Flouret Wheel Snowflake, The Flouret Icicle Snowflake, The Flouret Feather Snowflake and the Flouret Arachne Snowflake. They all have the same centre motif, but the surrounding patterns are very different, so they all look unique, yet go really well together.
All the snowflakes in the photos are made with linen yarn. I choose to work with linen yarn as it gives them a lovely rustic look. I think it gives them a very ‘Scandi Design’ look, and as I am Danish I suppose that’s very fitting! The snowflakes made with linen yarn also holds their shape better than the cotton ones I made and for me that’s a really important aspect. Below you can see the Flouret Wheel Snowflake made with linen yarn in 2-ply, 3-ply and 4-ply weight.

Measurements:
When made with 2-ply linen yarn the snowflakes have the approximate measurements when blocked:
Flouret Wheel Snowflake: 10 cm / 4 inches
Flouret Icicle Snowflake: 9.5 cm / 3 3/4 inches
Flouret Feather Snowflake: 10.5 cm / 4 1/4 inches
Flouret Arachne Snowflake: 10 cm / 4 inches

When made with 3-ply linen yarn the snowflakes have the approximate measurements when blocked:
Flouret Wheel Snowflake: 12 cm / 5 inches
Flouret Icicle Snowflake: 11 cm / 4 1/4 inches
Flouret Feather Snowflake: 13.5 cm / 5 1/4 inches
Flouret Arachne Snowflake: 12 cm / 5 inches
When made with 4-ply linen yarn the snowflakes have the approximate measurements when blocked:
Flouret Wheel Snowflake: 14 cm / 5 1/2 inches
Flouret Icicle Snowflake: 11.5 cm / 4 1/2 inches
Flouret Feather Snowflake: 17 cm / 6 3/4 inches
Flouret Arachne Snowflake: 14 cm / 5 1/2 inches

The patterns are written out in UK and US terms and has been tested by another crocheter – thanks Sabi Bulla for being so generous with her time and skills! You can find the collection in the following places:
My Etsy Shop or my Ravelry Store.
If you try the snowflakes in different yarns I’d love to know which yarns work for you and see photos of your results. I know these snowflakes will be gracing my home this Christmas and providing some Scandi hygge. Happy crocheting!
