This Affinity Heart pattern is an old pattern that I made many years ago. I made Scandi style heart buntings and sold them at my Christmas Markets. Last month I decided to do a bit of work on it, and in the light of Covid and the rainbows everyone has been making to show support for the NHS (National Health Service) here in the UK, I thought it would be nice to make them in rainbow colours too. You can of course make any colour scheme you feel like!

Please remember that this is my design and my copyright. You’re most welcome to use the pattern for yourself, but please do not copy, reproduce, translate or publish it as your own. If you sell what you make or post pictures of your makes I would appreciate if you mention where you got the pattern and direct people to my site. Thanks!
I make these hearts in Scheepjes Catona yarn using a 3 mm crochet hook, but other yarns can of course be used. All turning chains (ch 3) in row 1 – 10 counts as stitches. If you’re changing colours you can use a standing stitch instead of a turning chain, but you might want to still turn your work, so the texture pattern of the heart is the same throughout. If you’re unfamiliar with standing stitches you can find instructions here. You can make the hearts both with and without the border. You can see a photo towards the end of the blog post of what they look like without.
